"you yourself as the writer pay attention to it. Do you have any mantras that you use when you write, that you have stirring in your mind? I think, uh, what we're talking about, like, the muse has to know where to find you, is like, a big one. Um, I think also I really like Paris Review, like interviews with writers. What are your favorites? The one that I'm thinking about is with Rachel Kusk. Um, I think about that a lot. Uh, she wrote her first novel in her twenties and she talked about it as this experience of like turning, turning internally away from the world. Like, just like, Choosing to make, I think writing is choosing to make like your internal world in some ways, your entire world and like turning your back on like what other people are paying attention to and like just the difficulty of that. "
