service I thought these were just Evan mess but people actually played he's wrinkled backwards yeah they did they would have Friday was called chapel wow it sounds like a cult because they technically would be very hard to differentiate and that's what I was that when I made Anti Christ Superstar wasn't trailing out against my Christian upbringing which my parents were not very religious they were just basically
they well they told me they wanted me to go to a Christian school to get a better education probably not knowing that it would create this or maybe they did maybe they were for to us they thought we will create this monster people will deal with I sent him to Christian school that's a real vision well I mean I'm just giving credit to my dad yeah you know passed away recently as well yeah but it was touching what you write about
your dad man it really was and I think it was a really really lovely tribute well it's it's kind of I would think it would it's tough to my last record Palin or was dedicated my mom she died so I didn't think I was gonna work with Tyler and because we had a bit of a tiff Thanh stage says a good word for it yeah I pulled out a box cutter and pointed it at them so we didn't wait for me no I mean it was a proper no I will it was
really technically because I think I was disallowed to have bottles on stage because I kept making a mess because I like to smash them so I asked for a box cutter and Tyler was getting mad because I spilled a beer I think on his pedals so we got a little rift I put a box cutter I think it was a neon green box cutter we didn't speak for a while the next time what happen when you pulled it then he eventually quit he quit he quit
on the spot you quit yeah and we met again we laughed about it and we sat down do you apologize do you say sorry oh I I definitely apologize I'm almost on hands and knees like worn knee oh that's a proposal technically but bit you marry no accepted Johnny gave me this by where I'm a middle finger so no no I apologized to Tyler and then the first song we sat down to write was we know where you yeah well he said to me
because it's you like cutting joke and I go do I like cooking joke I was the first time I got my face punched and slam dancing joke so that was sort of I why don't we make a record that and we just started and it was great that he had he said to me when we made bail Emperor this is just the opening act for the next record well the which had not been made so the shift was really it was really noticeable because I felt like for a few
albums we were looking at someone who didn't want to look at himself in the mirror that's the a lot that's the artist I saw I don't know what was going on your personal life I agree but there was a lot of smearing going on there was a lot of shadow a lot of shade it was a lot the eyes were sad and I and I was looking at this guy going you know okay I don't see that shoulders back Manson
the guy that came out kicked the door in and yeah you know you're wearing pantyhose and and you look like but you were like do I look like would you like there were videos right now probably yeah but yeah but then you came out with a pamper and I was like oh look at you like okay it was a bit of kidding well what Tyler said to me we met on the set of Californication right which I was also staying in this house where I made
because I had to get into character be myself on this show yeah I just like saying here come on it sits under the Sun but some amazing toddlers said to me when I first met with him that I said I have to admit to myself that I was not exactly the artist I want to be or the person I want to be in the past few years and I'd like to make something that changed that and I think that whatever it was that we bonded over the

para limpiar was a step towards this record and what I hear on this record is you in very complete form very engaged with what you're doing you and Tyler you about your partnership now really like you understand each other and you know we live it's just a start right the album is a whole from beginning to end feels like a complete thought the first one for some time I think well I agree with you because I think it's the first
record that I've done I would say since Hollywood which is strangely went on and Johnny became reunited is frac album that one it's a very dark white coffee made with Dave's already the Houdini mansion which is where they filmed Californication right Rubin owns that doesn't me he does yeah and that's a stranger I met Tyler on Californication so I think it's sort of those strange things that happens for
you though man you are I do feel like it's the most complete thought beside written all the lyrics out mm-hm strange to you for the first time in one notebook like prose as opposed to songs yes more like prose and Tyler would see them and as opposed to trying to score around and my voice sound of my voice it was more around the sentiment in the in the lyrics mm so we were doing but he wouldn't even think about it it wasn't
something I liked he would spend a night like okay I'll get back to you on this it was more like he would see my lyrics and he would start writing a song by looking at my words hmm and it was a different thing but I didn't know he was doing that like I would just sing so it was like this real strange almost intimate thing that sounds more I say about it the worse it sounds it sounds a bit like we had a relationship in that way yeah in a weird

I wondered from your perspective now that you you know that you someone who looks bad but was there ever a moment when you felt like wow I'm losing control yes of course it was all just being in a bad place but I never really liked to watch things I did back okay well just bring it back to how you three right but I felt at the time was I was unhappy so it wasn't so much about things were going out of control I
didn't know how to control things so I felt I mean if you think about in life anyone's greatest fear is not having control over your life and everyone can relate to that so that's where I started to get back with Tyler when we made pal amber when we made this record that record was about emotionally in feeling in control and getting back who I really was after said previous seven years that you talked about and I agree with you 100%
I don't think wasn't drugs was that alcohol was it was it was it he was I don't think I think it was what's hard to define it you know I tried rehab they kicked me on almost basically but I you know it was a recent kind of rehab if you really wanna know the story I'll try to condense it I was there for about four weeks they talked about God so much it's when I wanted to quit making music and I put out unless we forget after
that and there was a 90 year old woman and I didn't talk to anyone in rehab and this 90 year old woman came in and they took away her hairspray but she was very beautiful like sort of Faye Dunaway sort of I said why'd they take your hairspray why are you here well my my children thought I should be here I said one day buy you a coffee door heroin or something you're 90 you invented the before we were born before
I was born you were doing more you're the one who created things like anal sex drugs you started that stuff why they tried to play me for it she goes I don't know and then they say I was a bad influence and my dad broke when I sort of played break me how do you pick me up what are you saying what's the first thing you said when you got out do you remember no he took me to a hotel he said listen don't don't start
drinking you don't get messed up because I was I think at the time my day was my mother's sickness was sort of declining and that had a big effect on me that could have been maybe part of it I feel like we're almost in a hannibal psychiatrist type situation the other way I know I know but I mean that's you're making me think about things that I've thought about but looking back at it I think that my mom started to get
sick I think that that probably had a great effect on my life and that probably affected my music and that's a period in which you were speaking of which I think that after when I made Pelham for it was something to make my dad proud it's the time he said but every dude promise me you will not follow the pieces going to rehab or something like that again do not turn into a complete disaster yeah I said I promise that
nothing love man love about my event I promise to Harris I held that promise yeah and I held it I wish he could air this record but you know I was there when he passed away and and this would be a story that my father would want me to tell you so that's why I'm telling you send some weight it sucks to have lost my mother doing Pallenberg but I made that record for my dad to make him proud and let's contact I mean I didn't lose

would have seems inconceivable even in the 90s that we would be digesting on a daily basis so what sharks now I think that was that was never the point there's nothing really shocking except what's happening around you if you digests it and if you try to make something that makes a statement it's more interesting than what's happening around you then they did something good so it's a perfect time to make something
that I saw you your mouth a gape when you watch the video huh and you're watching what's happening around us in America and that made me really happy to see you going I believe people remember this a day after they watch it but people have started to somehow turn into a fishbowl with a goldfish they have this 3-minute second memory things very ephemeral yeah and it seems to be AI don't rely on my fan set new things I
