congratulations my friend this album has been harder and you've really put a lot of heart and soul into it it's it's nearly upon us and um and I just might my obvious human question just to reconnect with you is how do you feel now that you know the work is done the music is realized and it's going to be
everybody else's in a minute my God I don't know I think I'm gonna feel the work is done when the album is out because I still like I can listen to the album I have all the time something that I wanted to do like in a different way I am very like I don't know like you can
imagine I'm trying to just uh give my people the best so always when I listen to a song I'm like what if I would do like something like that or something like this so I really I'm expecting like the way I choose and the way I did it is like the way people's gonna feel it this
album is super important for me saying I can tell you like I have been working so hard for this one um and I don't know like very very like opened to feel and listen to what people is going to feel about that's what the music sounds like that's what the album sounds like you know Manana tomorrow
will be beautiful this idea of striving for some space to be able to see the world differently and and I feel like that's what this album is going to reflect for people is is the journey from that moment of feeling down and compressed to wide open it's all all like all the the most in in a process
you said it like perfectly it's like uh a really like weird moment in my life I cannot tell like I was sad or happy I wasn't just feeling everything was okay or everything was like going in the right way in my life and I started like writing songs about it and and trying to
like show they were like that process as you said uh you're gonna find like anger uh I don't know love a said moments like just vibing and music and happiness and sadness and everything in this album and there is just one song especially like the first track is like the meaning is like while my heart
heals and I think that's the meaning like the lyrics of that song are the complete like meaning of my album in in the message that I want to give like I spent a lot of uh moments in my life trying to represent that I was a bichota a boss girl nothing like can touch me
but I wasn't feeling that way like completely so in this one is like just trying to say like it's good and normal sometimes feeling not that good and not that like in that mood all the time but that tomorrow is gonna be beautiful tomorrow it's gonna be another moment another opportunity like maybe the the
world and then in God and the universe is trying to make us strong and make us like trying to teach us something so let's be open and let's be let's try to put this all in the heart like more open to feel the pipe and to understand what we we need to learn and it's interesting
I'm looking at the cover art right now which is amazing and all these symbols that mean something to you are the rainbow the the sad Cloud that leads to the Happy Cloud um there's actually a lot of dinner I'm also noticing that on your album cover the shark doesn't eat the fish but
behind you it's clear that the shark is eating the fish so I'm a little upset about that because I like the idea that the fish was going to get away on the arm cover you kind of mess that up like the fish has done before so you know what like you have I have like uh uh
like a mantra in my life and I'm always selling like sharks are very important because sharks are the ones that make you go harder and make you push you like to the bottom and like the strong you can so that's why it's hard so you're the shark because I just want to make sure you're not the fish
what the symbol is here no like maybe like sometimes I was the fish but sometimes you're the shot exactly and is the beauty of the album um it's awesome I love the cover and it's one of those covers you can get lost in and it does have a childlike effect to it but at the same time
there's an instance to it at the same time there are you know a lot of symbols in there I want to talk about tqg I want to talk about this beautiful collaboration that you've done and I can say collaboration even though I can't see it written anywhere but you shout her out there's a Shakira Shakira ID in
the middle of the song so just the idea of the two of you coming together and how that was because Carol you've had you've been touching Legends lately how's that how was that my girl like with this one I can tell like I I don't know I just I did this song I don't know
if you remember mommy with Becky G it was like a huge hit and I I did take your G like take away I did it like this same day I I wrote my verse for Mommy so like Dominion like of both of the songs where are like they're going a lot like the same way so I just like kept take ug
for me like I'd say like I don't wanna to to like put my career in like in the same Vibe all the time so I wanna do like physical operation with Becky and I'm gonna keep this one for myself like maybe people are going to listen to that one but I'm Gonna Keep it for me then um
I was like just uh seeing what was happening with Shakira and his personal life and and she and her personal life and I was like you know what like let me contact her because maybe like this song it's getting like with with her story the song again like uh like it worth it
for me to launch it again to to work for girls to uh represent that moment of the life uh and that's really interesting Carol that you come in it from that angle because you could have come it up purely from an artistic angle from a legacy and respect angle Shakira's one of the most incredible performers and
artists and and influential artists for the last 25 to 30 years but for you to look at it from a human point of view to identify through some kind of pain with an adjourned life's journey that hey maybe that's a reason for us to connect it must have been really important for
you you because this album's been a healing process for you as well it that's like that's everything like for me it was everything like last year we were like sharing some songs but I for me like music is about connection and music for me is about to represent something that is real in my life so
there are a lot of songs that I did like maybe it wasn't representing something really clear for me so I kept them like out of the album but this one like I like again I was feeling something very special because for me was like it represents a moment in my life but right
now can represent a moment for her life so I just called her uh you know yeah I called her and I was like like sorry about me just calling you directly but I think I have a song like maybe you're gonna be happy to hear it like because uh I think it represents like a moment
in your life she was like super happy she loves this song um and everything and started like happening we were like you know what like it was super nice for both of us share like conversation about life and about like how she was healing that process like he was feeling that moment
in in me as well so it was like I think this one is very special and you know I can't wait for people to listen to it super exciting I love this song and the chemistry is so great between the two of you you know I think about what she's been going through and what you've been
going through it's not it's not of anyone's business but it becomes people's business because it becomes stuff that people write about and you fall in love with who you fall in love with and you have to live your life and you don't want to live your life in secret you made that really clear with
the song of the same name and so I wonder when you come out the other side of that though and you've experienced it you put it into your music and you learn from it how it affects your ability to approach love and approach relationships because you're such a visible and and
loved person fans love you you know and your music is everything and so how do you you know does it change the way that you go about approaching people and how you live your life because as we're seeing right now living life in the public eye is tough it's a really
tough life it's tough and it's horrible because you have like million opinions of people uh talking in a point like they don't know like the true story about the things and you're trying just to keep that away from your work from what you do all the time but in this case it was like something uh because I
talked with her a lot about like um the answer of the people about we both together like talking in that topic but it was more about telling the world like you know what like we're feeling same and we like we're like having these like same experiences of you and this is the way you you're gonna heal and it's
gonna be amazing if a lot of girls like just heal a moment or they feel like a better in a process with a song together two girls like the same country so we were like super happy about it and for me it's kind of you know like this is me doing music I love doing music I know my
my artistic name is Karol G but for me it's just Carolina expressing something and if I'm gonna like since the beginning I was like you know what if I'm gonna leave uh with music I just have to be me because I don't really want I don't want to create like a uh character or something that people
follows because it's gonna be hard to keep it like all the time that's what Carol G was right when you come out it's like I'm Carol G like I can take on the world but you're right like this is Carolina on this album this is a really very personal reflection and I think
that's when artists can truly start to explore everything is when you take the identity you build as a kid when you're just trying to like stand out and make noise and be exciting and you don't even know how to express your inner thoughts and feelings so Carol G it is right and
then you catch up to Carolina and then you come together like it's an invitation I don't know why like we are in a generation like everybody's trying too hard to be another model to be mature to be like something that we don't really are and we're forgetting like all those moments where we are
we're like we were just so innocent enjoying life no matter what we're like the best ones so why what if we just like have a stop in a life and we just like feel the buy we just go with the flow we just let the moment go it's like if I'm not let be sad tumor is gonna be
perfect tomorrow's gonna be better but like let's stop and let's be you because like this generation is teaching us a lot how to be how to be for uh feed in this generation to be cool to be perfect to be beautiful it's just like everything has like a process like the way it has to be and why like why you
just love the way you are and I think like that if you do like that people is gonna love you more because we need that differences like between everybody facts facts facts Carol G let me ask you a question do you believe in manifestation in the drawing of one's Destiny to
themselves yes I believe I know you do now let me tell you why I know you do that's why I know you do because you and Rihanna backstage at the Super Bowl is the perfect example of manifest destiny right there say I like that say that was insane insane you know what like I like I need to tell
this story because I don't even know now how that happened no one was getting back there Carol you can't just get back there you know what like I was like since she announced she was going to be in the Super Bowl I just asked my team I need a sweet I'm gonna buy my sweet and
I'm gonna be there just enjoying that show because I love her and this can be like my only opportunity that I have to sit here like singing live then when I got in the place like um they were there was a misunderstood with my sweet so my sweet was like in the middle of like a bunch of people and
it was like hard to see her it was in the other side right of the where she was going to perform so I was super sad and I don't know how it gets to Jay Brown his his manager and he just sent two credentials for me to go to her Suite like it was her family it was like
a different artist so so I saw like her show when I was there when the show finished I just said like everybody thank you so much I really appreciate this moment I'm gonna leave that night I was going to live through Dominican Republic so I was in the car getting to the plane I didn't like finish the show
because I was there because of Rihanna yeah and somebody from my team called me and he was like Hey Jay Brown her manager he said she like she wants to meet you so I don't know if you're like or you're gonna return and I was like what send the car around turn the car around
because I need to get there and you know what like it took me an hour and 38 minutes to go back felt like a lifetime because what if she gets bored and gets in her car and splits like he must have been like man I gotta get back there and I was in the car and I was like like she wants to
meet me like I don't really I wasn't like really like getting the bike then I was going to meet her it was like kind of weird for me to like believe it but I was doing my best and I was doing everything for like the opportunity then I just got it to like she was in in the
arena like in the side of the stadium it was an arena and I was in the arena and I didn't have like even the time to think because when we parked there was something somebody waiting for us and I just came in and I was shaking horrible like I was like shaking and shaking and I was like you know what
sorry about me shaking this way but I was super happy you know she was so nice and I loved that she was like that because I like my life and my career uh what has been very like she was very she is very inspirational for me as a woman like I think she has everything and she
inspired me a lot and it was like super beautiful to find her that beautiful person she was so special she she hugged me she like told me all the things that she liked about me and my career and myself and I was like I think everybody has to have the opportunity to have an idol and to meet
her Idol or his Idol their idols and to be the way she was because I love her more right now Carol that's my life that's all I've been doing is meeting my Idols for like 35 years all the time and you and you have a bunch of them like in your list you know so it's like I totally get it
it's such a beautiful moment because we meet up we meet our heroes and they're just human beings and they have good days and bad days sometimes they're the Sharks sometimes they're the fish but but this was one of those moments where you could tell that there was a
really strong spiritual connection at the gate and for her to call you back and ask to meet you when you're already on your way to the airport means she felt it she wanted to make her have a moment it's so beautiful and it I'm going to ask you one more question about
this thing right here because I think it's really important to inspire kids to know that those early dreams lead somewhere that's what manifestation is can you think back to the to where this where this moment originated from where was the first moment that Rihanna really touched you and spoke to you and
influenced you can you trace this meeting back to a moment as a young child when that music really hits you for me uh I have to say like in a parenthesis that for me was like kind of crazy to meet somebody that like it's not like to meet a person that is famous or is like full of things I think are as
a human being to represent something in a millions of people because for me she's like she gives motivation for me in my life and I think my people in their lives more than opportunities the first thing that we need as a human is motivation like inspiration to do
something be to be something be to like to be good and to work hard and and be strong for everything so that's the first thing that I have to do like that I have to say like to meet her to meet this the person that gives me motivation all the time in this like hard life it
was like super special I know you've got a small group of people around you that really help you discover things and bring them to life and everyone supports each other and you know on the eve of this really important album and these huge stadiums that you've all achieved I just wanted to finish by by asking you
how it feels to share this with family both both blood and chosen because you've been on this journey together for a long time and this is really a a chance to succeed and to celebrate together it's not just you right like you couldn't do it without everybody like for me like this industry can put
you like in a really dark spot inside so for me to keep my friends and my family involved in this like career is everything and I have to say and I always say it like people like if you're like watching this interview and if you have kids please support what they love
like for me like I think like my My Success is because my parents they always believe in me and they like put more of that inside of me like I had a talent and they were like you can do it let's do it we're gonna do it as a team let's do it let's do it let's do it so my family was very like important for me
since the beginning and to keep them right now very close to me it's like the way I feel like I'm down to earth and I keep it like like my identity and and the real meaning of the things and the real vision of the things so yeah I always say that family and friends are they're
