How do you decide what does and doesn't make the cut?

I'm like very boutique style like when it comes to recording and putting out music, you know what I'm saying?

Like each song that I work on, I really try to make it like good enough to put out basically.

Every time I work on a song basically, I'm like this is going to be released.

That hasn't always been the case, but for this album process, that was the case.

Do you have any sort of guiding philosophy when it comes to the melodic shape of a chorus or do the catchy hooks that you write just kind of come naturally?

Um oh my god, that sounds so like, yeah, it just comes naturally, but that's literally how it is cuz yeah, like I said beef like literally yesterday on the carpet, I was just like if I knew how to make a hit every time, I would do it every time.

I usually work on the hook first, I feel like, and then the verses come after, but there is a track on the album I just went straight into a verse and there's like not really a hook.

Are there any telltale signs that a song is fully baked?

Like before I didn't really have like an identity when it came to like recording and I would try to sound like other people or what I thought a hit record sounded like until I really just got more comfortable and just started experimenting and really being myself.
