so how do we put it into one film we did our very best in West London Where it All Began Westway W12 I don't feel like there's a there's any of this without the West way no and I mean it's changed so much since I actually had this place I mean but when I first got it there was really just the West way there and you had these amazing sunsets over Ealing
and yeah so this is Studio 13. it's just to make this official this is I'm sure I've asked you this before but what's the 13 the relevance of 30 I know is the blur album and it seems to be I know my fur my first ever Studio was Unit 13 in bus space which is right just a little further to Sahara Road that's probably the first screw this album and a little
bit of the second one yeah but that it just had it got to the point where you couldn't move because there was so much equipment so I had to buy it get a better bigger building and obviously once you get a bigger building then you've got to fill it so yeah and then you've got to extend it and then you've got to extend it and just keep going by
the way one thing we should really acknowledge here which is what probably the most simple and beautiful ergonomic piece of art in this building is this bike bicycle yeah it's a nice one though but weirdly it's a bit it's a British made bike but I bought it in France doing the fold bully that's the most rock star thing you've ever done is my british-made bike I've
done it in Holland as well but the the I mean the good thing about putting it inside a building is it doesn't get nicked by first in the last 30 years I think I've probably lost about 50 bikes and being stolen around here so but regularly I've seen my bike's like been been around here and then there was one well I I got given like a a limited
edition uh chopper from rally yeah when they they reintroduced them and that got stolen really quickly so I saw this kid on it and I was just like I can't believe it but that is definitely my bike you're a hustle you cannot Dazzle so the storage thing is an essential part of any Studio experience and it's it's more than just efficiency it's also
for you I'd imagine really important part of like finding something when you're inspired like remember that pedal yeah immediately I mean yeah this this is one of our most beloved instruments this is a snuffo horn from West Africa and I use that basically as the centerpiece of an opera I did uh year before last in Paris that was chatealay called the Vol de Bali and
uh this was the instrument I played most of it [Music] sounds amazing beautiful beautiful thing that sounds amazing is it like any other kind of wind instrument is it all in the Cheeks is it quite challenging to get a sound after a while I mean I hadn't played it for like a year and a half now but I mean I was really really into it and I and when I was because I performed
on the first run of the Opera I I was in the band and I had a I had a a voice changer on it so I could muck about with the sounds and you could get it really high and weirdly although you get that down there when you take that up a few octaves there's so many more notes in it than you think there are so it's beautiful lovely yeah it's amazing
um do you remember that time when we went to Mali and I and I bought um a traditional drum from Mali and then I sat on the van I was playing it on the way back and Remy told me to shut the up well he's like yeah mate look we we just heard someone playing that well we don't need to hear you playing it but that's not fair that's not for Everyone's entitled to
play instruments so this is another of my beloved instruments this is a French 19th century uh monocode right so it's like a violin and a piano and the thing that's so beautiful about this it's got its so this would have been taken by being used by traveling musicians maybe you know in a circus or whatever but yeah it's it's uh it's actually a
keyboard and a violin you you use it by hand for the bow and then you adjust the notes with that that is one of the coolest things I've ever seen it's beautiful have you ever seen another one it looks like it's one uh well actually because I use this as well in the folder bully yeah it just didn't have the volume and the consistency of sound so I
managed I bought another one which was a cello version which was like this the French were really bigger making these in the 19th century but the beautiful beautiful instruments that's amazing yeah this is the this is incredible in here because because this is where like you say a lot of the the discoveries around the world are like look at all these shows she
calls it a rubbish violin that's not very much I haven't written any of these These are these are quite a new addition rubbish violin is it the first time you've noticed that yes somebody that's been the that's been the longest running in-joke yeah yes at the studio uh I mean this has just got lots of weird sort of yeah string
related things there's a lot of Chinese instruments I bought when I was doing uh monkey Jones the West when Jamie and I so we were so lucky we we managed to travel around the whole of China in that period when it was actually open you couldn't do it now it's that weird it was about five years where they were actually up for people coming and poking
around although we did always have a little car following us behind really there was always completely engulfed in cigarette smoke and they always used to get really pissed every day and then sort of get back in their car and follow us wherever we were going this one this is the first of the electronic ones yes this this is just drum machines so
anyone who loves drum machines this is a nice well this is what I was saying before when before we started filming when I said I love it when people buy the right toys like if you come into some financial success you've got a bit of money to play with and you're not buying an NPC 3000 yeah I've been buying these from day one you know what I mean I've been buying stuff
uh I mean I was trying to find some that one on my uh my early early thing here would be this this was uh this was my first ever voice changer I I bought a boss voice Transformer I used that a lot back then that goes back to blur days I used to so is that on Emi yeah yeah yeah so that's the sound that you use for the for the vocal change that is crazy I
always wondered how you got that effect yeah no that's that just that is that that is crazy going like that with it yeah yeah yeah it wasn't that's that well uh uh this is what I did uh this is what I did those early uh uh Alaska songs on away yeah seriously this connection yeah this connection that that yeah I always you know the thing I
always thought about with connection which is interesting to me was it's almost like a a brother or a sister to song two it's almost like you're trying out the dynamic of song two with connection the weird thing about song two is that when I when I originally wrote it it was like a lounge song it was Graham who like who who was just not interested in anything they
just wanted to do so you had like so it's more like I got my hair Yeah well yeah I had the woohoo from the beginning have you got that demo somewhere somewhere wow somewhere you archived that stuff I mean yes yes that that is uh well you know there's always someone who claims they wrote your song right so that's why you've got to keep
your demos I love corridors at places like this because of the people that walk down them who's walked down here that's been like well the hilarious thing was Snoop with his bodyguards because he had a bodyguard at the front door and one here right and I was like guys there's nothing going on in here you just can relax and sit down just chill
it's funny I was growing up as a kid in Lagos Nigeria I never thought the one day I would work with with gorillas and redeem and I never thought that would happen and it's happened and it's been an amazing experience working with demon so this is where you do a huge amount of the creative writing what is the day like like how do you approach the
recording side of things is it as and when do you treat it like a job do you come in at a certain time and do the days yeah yeah I start at 10 and finish at six right I rarely deviate from that I'm about to leave here and sort of pass this on as a place just to be used by other people because I'm moving all my stuff down to Devin so you're
gonna live full-time in Devon now uh not full-time but pretty much no yeah enough to Warrant a move but I've got a rehearsal I've got I've got a barn that'll converts into a rehearsal yeah space as well so I can not only record but I can rehearse down this I love that it's a great that's a good excuse to come to another one of these yeah oh no
absolutely my goodness do you can I ask you are you a little bit melancholic about leaving this place given all the memories you've had here and all the experience I'm gonna say I'm leaving it that's a bit melodramatic I'll still no I know but you won't I still have Offices here sure but it's not going to be the central creative location for you
anymore no no uh but that's because I just like being by the Sea you know and I like yeah I like I just like God just like a quieter life you know that's going to make access a little more challenging there wasn't enough people to come and go are they up for it everyone wants to come well the thing is this what I've made I've turned some of the bonds into a really nice place to
live so let's talk about this room who's been in here like what what's being in here yeah like what's the session that you just immediate immediately think about like well I suppose Bobby Womack was a was a really beautiful because we made a whole album here with him yeah that was a really I mean man has anyone got a list I made a list this
is the top of the head list okay this isn't even nearly the length of the chronological list De La Soul yeah Bobby Womack yeah Grace Jones yes oh God that's amazing amazing nights here with Grace Jones Lou Reed uh not here uh New York how is that uh really well it took it that that took that took a year I mean I sent him three
songs each one came back with a really snotty email going don't like it leave me alone perfect fourth time not Third Time Lucky fourth time lucky on this occasion he went yeah okay I might be able to do something with this and then so Jamie Remy and I uh turned up uh in New York at the studios a really really stormy afternoon and he's he wouldn't let Jamie or or
Remy into the studio he'd only let me in so they were literally refuse to hatch Jamie was particularly crestfallen by that and I had a cup of two of him and then he said right I've got to go uptown and I'm going to write while I'm in the taxi and I'll come back later so I just sat around waiting for him that when he came back he said look I've
written this all these these words about my my thoughts on plastic I'm just going to sing it and I'm not I'm not going to adhere to to your first chorus I'm just going to sing it as it comes out and then that's it and then once then I'm done and it was a brilliant brilliant process and I I love that now of um just writing a whole stream of words and
then singing I read I rarely employ it because but I should do it more because it's so it's so so brilliant if you can do it you know what I'd love to know is that when you leave that room even with all of the experiences you've had across multiple different parts of your life and you've got this thing yeah it's probably not physically but it's it's
recorded it's not it's it's it's are you just are you not just like is that not like a feeling that you just can't get anywhere else knowing that you've captured something that's forever with someone that you admire right it's amazing it's it's wonderful and uh it's the relief of actually getting something because the the sort of the
more the more iconic the the artist the the more tragic is it is if you don't get anything and I won't use something if it's truly awful you know just because it's somebody and I've that happens quite a lot you know people do collaborations and but they just do it they can't separate the person from the actual outcome yeah sometimes and I think
I kind of mentioned what you're sitting on in here that hasn't been heard not because it's awful but just because there's well there's a lot of Erica Badu stuff not she wasn't awful we just in this room she Thundercat reminded me said no when I met him he said no you you've met me before I came with her to your studio he was there yeah he was there this is when
you were tanked it really tanked singing here with Erica having a fantastic time but I'm at the time yeah but I'm so out of tune and you don't even remember seeing Thundercat in the room yeah but she she was really late and Remy and I just just sort of passed the time in the interim she was supposed to get there like seven or something and didn't
get there till one in the morning you know so we just that wasn't the same conversation we told that hilarious story about your nephew getting so drunk that used to he doesn't remember jamming with yeah with Paul McCartney yeah he was only 15 at the time he shouldn't have been drinking he was I'd only let him come because you know I thought it would be fun so he was
serving drinks for everyone but I didn't know he was uh he was finishing off a few sneaky ones on the Sicky ones and then and then he gets this opportunity it was Paul Simon and Paul McCartney Remy myself and where we'll start jamming because I bought I've given I've given Paul McCartney this gift of a base and goni which is a fantastic Marlin
instrument yeah uh so he just wants to try it out you know and then you know we invite Rudy it's his name to come and play with us because we've got some Bongos he just loses his and just starts doing this totally nothing related to what we're playing and it was hilarious everyone's looking at each other what's Mac and Mac was like all right man it sounds yeah you
know yeah he's gonna be but no he can remember anything about it the next day so the 13 archives we're going to go upstairs and look at the at the rest of the place and then settle and talk about the new album but while we're in this room um the 13 archives like uh that what you've captured here and we have not heard is there any way of even
putting into words the amount of music that you've got that hasn't been shared yet give us lots of stuff I mean there's sometimes the you know there's the the the the there's De La Soul tunes that I've released as most deaf as a most deaf tune with uh uh uh Suleiman wow uh which is really cool cool fresh arrivals we see every time I see him he says man
we've got to put that out yeah I don't know why we didn't put it out the time it's really great but and then sometimes because things don't sort of you know because there are cycles for everything and if it and if it doesn't make that cycle because you're on something completely different yeah um you kind of forget about it and don't
you don't you run the risk then of it just it being something that is an afterthought like one day you're not going to be before we just no but only onto plastic B for other people because we had sweepstakes which was just such a brilliant yeah need another tune do you have this thing of like well what's going to happen like one day you won't
be here let's call it a hundred you reach next you do the Donald Bradman or you know you get to 99 you do the Donald bread yeah very very very nice age to get to right but then do you do you worry about yeah do you worry about um what other people do with it we had it all wrapped up because there's so much music and I feel like you're very
deliberate about the way that you share and release and I I I think it's all you know at the end of the day and I'm I try not to be precious you know I care I care and I'm very passionate and very diligent but I'm I try not to be a precious I think that that's one of the things that I don't like about the music business is how precious memory makes
people sometimes and and the movie industry and everything people I know they're protecting themselves and everything but sometimes it's a bit too precious for me do you think about the award season that's gets very precious you're never good at that no that's you're terrible at that in fact I highly recommend if you get a second if you're inspired by
this conversation to go and see some of Damon's greatest award hits normally just waiting around too long getting really bored and getting drunk normally it's the being the most so young though you and your friends when you would go to the Brits and stuff and it was just a mad time and you would go up on that stage and it's almost like oh
yeah you had to be professionally wasted yeah you did you were a professional and I remember at the Brits when we it came to the four Fourth Ward and I just thought it was so inappropriate that we were winning everything I did because it's the first time I'd ever been to anything like that I didn't understand that that's how it goes you know if your
flavor of the month you win everything you know which again is a very disingenuous place to be when yeah as well though it's just the whole Wards of they're all yeah you know because they're just they just don't represent really what's going on and it's all to do with the people in the room who make the decisions and the politics and the economics and
uh it's not fair I don't think it's they're Fair ever yeah you know so if something's not fair it shouldn't exist there was that brief little window right while we're talking about it where Fair we're in competition and it was like you and Oasis but this was the thing it was like the fourth the fourth time we've gone up we went up I was like I don't know where it's for best
something yeah and I said look it's this is ridiculous I was winning everything Oasis sort of like you know smashing it as well why but it didn't translate properly backfire backfire so did Noel record here yeah yeah yeah yeah so how was that moment okay you guys had already communicated before obviously the recording what was it still no it's
great because Noel's got a really totally different kind of voice to me he's super accurate when he does everything everything is like it's almost mathematical and he holds a note with really pure yeah yeah really really I'm really hold it yeah no no no definitely definitely you've opened the door throughout the years to whoever is out there literally out there in the
streets doing exciting whether it was Octavian yeah Sims yeah Sims yeah I mean that was that was brilliant that you were early on that as well yeah really early should we keep walking [Music] foreign [Music] particularly dear to me because this is the one where I used to sit play with Bobby Womack all the time wow having him
sitting right next to you singing playing just those chords that inspires him I mean he'd be you know he loves he loves a chord like that foreign angels to open up can I ask you a really basic human question Beyond try to sort of separate yourself from the the artist where the Instinct kicks in and just try to explain how you get past what others would
experience which certainly me a sense of self-conscious fear having someone like Bobby there and wondering whether or not those chords are going to come to you whether you're going to actually rise to the occasion and get him excited and get him to feel something can you even do that or is it just be on thought now yeah I I mean I don't really play the
piano thing I don't think about playing the piano I just sort of I literally don't even know where I'm going sometimes I just I might I just sort of my hands just do it so I just feel it I just hear where it should go really that's kind of how I do it when you get picked I have a selection of great people then it's like you get that calling so it's like you gotta
answer your calling in an appropriate way when you're dealing with grapes we talk about this photo we've spoken about Bobby a lot obviously I mean it's different down there now because all all of that is now those those covers are all suffering in but originally that was uh wow yeah it's dear Bobby yeah so I want the one person I've got a
photo of them in the studio everyone else I haven't got it's a good one though yeah yeah now outside I want to come outside because this is crazy this is where you see the mural going down the corridor yeah the first time they ever came out here you brought me out here when the train was going past and you were like listen to that this is that

songs you know what I'm saying there's some that might like my song something like some of the other songs some with that daylight on you know what I'm saying like he got so much variety he know what he doing obviously I just feel like he a great musician you feel me so we should talk a bit about the art here yeah so this is a Sutcliffe

Affair Without You individual actions change the world and we feel and I think the realest field and certainly I feel that the oil this amazing song by the gorillas this song will hopefully maybe change the world a little bit I love being a part of it and I love being an honorary gorilla I can't wait for the world to hear it so now we're in my
studio yeah where I work I needed light because I spent 10 years down there and it's an amazing view that way I mean if you stick the camera out that you can see charge you can see the wheel [Music] yeah it's amazing trellic Tower obviously which is now illuminated at night which is really nice oh it is yeah yeah it never it never ceases to sort of
delight me really so I want to just start this by by before we get into this new album by just putting into context what it is about West London because you've traveled all over the world I mean you're probably the most traveled musician I've ever spent time talking with I mean you have been to places that no other musician can say they've been
to um made music and made music and invested yourself into the place exactly creatively but you come back here so what is the prevailing mood or feeling or Essence of West London that you think just just permeates through what you do well it's it's been my home it's where my family are I mean I came I came here full of romantic Notions you know the
few times I've been prize moving here the carnival had always loved that I'd love this sort of the The Melting Pot um one of my favorite bands had kind of sort of uh immortalized it The Clash cracker Island this album is um I said to you off the off camera and I would be churlish not to say it on the record as well it's my favorite gorillas
album okay and I I absolutely love it and and just the writing and the collaboration between you and Greg Kirsten he's incredible he really is we've gone out on the Thursday night Antonio was like you agreed to meet Greg Kirsten this was on Friday morning and I thought I don't want to but I've done enough work this week I don't want to do it and anyways pop
producer why would I want to do that and she was like he is cleared by his biggest producer in the world yeah you need to go and talk to him at least go and have a cup of tea and you know I'm so glad I did because we literally we we did Silent Running that afternoon beautiful so that was the start yeah that's a deep start yeah and we finished
it that we've pretty much finished it that afternoon we hung over yeah you can hear a little bit now yeah isn't it there's a Melancholy that comes out of removing the facade when you've had too much to drink before stay right no no yeah I mean I wouldn't recommend it every day but sometimes it can uh it can really help obviously but no I was so so
glad because he's firstly a lovely guy a super tented turned out we had almost identical taste in music from the 80s we were both in like sort of Indie bands in in the early 90s you know it just goes on and on yeah and we're great we just had a great time I'd love to make another record with him well he unlocked a sound that I think
gorillas in a weird way has been searching for which is just this unashamed pop yeah yeah some other people have said it's pop up I do hope it is oh I mean it is absolutely that's great because it's quite odd it's quite hard in the mid 50s to make a pop album well it's tasteful pop yeah there's a difference I mean it's what it is isn't it it will
end up where it is but it's nice it's nice to be you know I'm happy to make a pot record it's like I've been trying to make a pop record for years well also you're beholden to whoever you're collaborating with to some degree right yeah totally and and that's the thing is you know you you know you just have to trust the process and accept it where it leads you
you know sometimes it doesn't lead you necessarily where you you expected it's a legion oh it starts unexpected I'm used to gorillas having some kind of um introduction to a concept that's really laid out on a plate for us and this one just one two three and you're in it's like no yeah delay the crackers on cracker Island are they
are a cult they yeah their truth is distorted they're propagating their own misinformation demise really yes exactly that's what the album feels like to me it feels like um you've created your own and the end of the world crackers right yeah when did this concept start to present itself because there is an overarching feeling to the album that keeps referring back
to this idea that um you're in charge of your own destiny congratulations you it up yeah well we're all in this together yeah that's right I mean that's one of the most beautiful songs you've ever written yeah I'm really proud of that song actually I really do love position Island yeah I'm amazing and it's great to do it with Mr Beck yeah
but Beck he mirrors your vocals that it's hard at times to even know who's who every time I've got drunk we're we're back we've had this uh we should do we should do some Walker Brothers because we both got baritone voices as well we are the richness in our voices really is and I'm trying to sort of slowly well nature isn't insisting but I also like the
you know getting lower the depth that comes with age yeah I mean it's hilarious with blur some of the songs it's just about he gave up the woohoo many years ago you still do it I can still do the woohoo yeah of course but I mean that's that's not so bad but it's just the high high some of the stuff last time I heard you do it it was
more of a Ryu well it still might be that it was more of a sort of like we're going to the quad with beers [Applause] I mean it's different every time you know to be honest with you did you know each other in the 90s when it was like I thought he was God yeah to me I mean there wouldn't be gorillas without without his first two albums amazing I
don't think so that and massive attack and back they're just what they were doing was was was really inspired me to to try it myself you know what it was as well like someone like Beck and massive came from a different space because they were obviously coming out of Bristol and they were very focused on kind of that UK feel but with Beck in America he was
able to move into a space that was kind of quote unquote Loosely defined as rap and pull it off because he was uniquely himself exactly no I mean yeah no I mean he just huge a huge influence on I think that was something that When Gorillas first came out it was very clear that you were allowed in the room like when you were working with like Dell to work
with Dell first it's such a touch I mean firstly it's a good start I mean I would say his odds on my favorite rapper of all time yeah he's definitely he's but he's he he he's well what he's a really I've got a new tune with him actually incredible captain chicken which is an extra track on because we did it on the road he's like really good captions he's
like hip-hop's Frank zapper almost to me he's like this is a real Frank Zappa hip-hop tune captain chicken he's he's so eccentric yeah I feel like he'd rather play video games than any of it he's a really lovely guy and I'm so glad he's going to be at Coachella because he would smash that end of that show you know Coachella was it was
awesome seeing you on the bill it actually makes a bit of sense given that you know you touched it last year well yeah I mean with the Billy eilish experience I mean who called you did she call you did she reach out yeah yeah and I was just like it let's do this what did she say just please come hang out yeah yeah so I mean I I really rate her and uh I'd love
to work with her at some point you guys haven't recorded yet no no we we went out for lunch last time I was there they said so what are you doing for the rest of the afternoon I said well you know I really fancy making some music and everyone just looked away so I was like okay I'll walk home then it's not that kind of lunch like a right doofus anyway well at some
point I'm sure it happened yeah for sure did you get a taste of it then were you like were you in discussions with Coachella when you stepped on stage with her last year or was it no no no no no no no I mean I think it's uh I think it was bad bunny who he said I don't know I mean he's his his rise has just been so oh and he said I'd like to play with

alternate ideas to to mainstream thought I mean which can be a great thing which sounds like the internet to me can be a great thing too it can be a great thing so a lot of the changes coming from that I mean it's it's it gets swept up in the thrash of everything else because it's such a democratized space there are things you can pull out like I watch our
kids do it I watch them navigate oh yeah but but I mean well my dogs get so annoyed with me when I put a foot wrong and I miss misread something you know so how can you be so simplistic about that well it's not really for us anymore it really is and I accept that well that's why I don't dabble because we don't dabble in the dark arts of the
internet we've had to learn yeah they were born into it yeah totally oh completely so there's just an innate understanding that we will never truly get but the way that you captured it on this record and and talk about it and and the reference points oh the song oils is just it's mad right it's amazing but it also feels like imagine if the
imagine if the internet had just picked up Fleetwood Mac and somehow transported them in their youth yeah to 2023 it would almost sound like that don't you think it has an essence of Fleetwood Mac yeah Arrangement and the musicality yeah I think that's I think that's why why it worked but you know originally I when I took that into to to Greg's
Studio I said I really hate Julian Casablancas on it on that song yeah interesting because you heard it as a slightly edgier more strokesy four on the four type thing yeah yeah yeah yeah it's not it's that modern classic American FM Soul pop you know those drums are so loud and the bass lines just so propulsive it's just got that voice I mean she's just got one of those
voices as soon as you hear it's like I know that is yeah yeah yeah she said she wanted a character she said to me I want my character yeah yeah no no I mean as I did it and then she went no I haven't quite got that Stevie Nicks thing on it so she went and added some really high harmonies on that bit in the madness come and it's just like
it hits that Peak which all her great so if you come together in that market yeah it's emotional yeah yeah I just gotta get it before me but she won't come and do catsilla sadly why is he calling it cow Cellar it's not it's not like in the middle of it's not sorry what do you call it Coachella mate sounds like a farming equipment I came from London didn't it this is a

turned to me and said how the is Billy not a character on the screen right now it's true uh not to put pressure on Jaime or anything but no well this is this is Joe Jamie's you can't tell Jamie what to do right I mean he he's fair enough he he drew Elton John he's done Bad Bunny as well but it doesn't he has done a version of bam bunny which is really great but I mean
no one's seen it I got shown it one night and then done he's very he's quite he's quite the artist so he likes the separation now he likes being there and being able to do his art while you do the music and having that spacer he can just be left alone to do his oh Jeremy has to be left alone when he's doing his thing yeah yeah and usually you get a fade to
complete you don't there's no like well maybe could you just change that back in his pocket whereas I'm like like like for example possession Island had a mid late right which went quite sort of became sort of it just went in a different way and he said you can't have that and it sounds too much like Good The Bad and The Queen who said that
Jamie so I took it out of the song I deconstructed the song for him right but I don't get such privileges with his work there's something written on the piano downstairs in the main in the live room I love Melancholy yeah you do and it's something that I realize now as a fan of your music over decades and listening to so much of it throughout my
life that is a Common Thread is that you find God this is probably the most pretentious description so I apologize but you find like it it's almost like a romance in Melancholy like it's like sometimes I need it I need it I need it it's it's just like for me I you know I can sing Melodies and that and until I put like just one minor or even a hint at a minor
chord you know I find I I don't I don't feel it myself I need that to feel music there's a line that really that came through on oils when I was looking out the window that was lost intangible yeah beautiful and then you go into and I'm gonna mess this up but it's like that's the place you go when you can't find yourself anymore in the madness and the
madness has come comes yeah my mind of a line I like in there is the fairy light companions to the dark maths that catapult has like that I don't know I've been about that is there anything tangible to where the when these words come to you is there anywhere that well no because I I the way I write and and that's the way I I will always write I
suppose is because I get so excited when I'm writing a song Because Melody and and word come at the same time for me and if I've got if if the chords are like you know propelling me forward I get so excited I just sing and and it's weird I mean you know it rarely comes out fully formed but there's so many interesting things that sort of half and and someone who actually really
encouraged me to do that was Danger Mouse because when we were doing Demon Days I mean the first two gorillas records they were I didn't write at anything I just sort of emoted on but he sat down bless him and he wrote what he thought I was saying down so and it made sense in a weird way I suppose it's sort of it's akin to mumble rap there's a
certain type of rap artist that speaks to me in my generation of rap fans my age group wise um that that constantly sort of gets an invitation to gorilla's record and hearing booty Brown on the album to me it was like a real nod because being a Far Side fan a brilliant Resurgence of oh I mean in fact I'm just a bit ashamed but I haven't used him more
because there's always been a reason he's always coming on the tours he's always he's such a Pookie is such a lovely person he really is yeah gorgeous yeah yeah yeah really lovely really lovely so you're in a position now post Coachella where I mean this is the biggest sounding gorillas album that you've made just in terms of the sound
and the feel it's the pop out and you've always wanted to make I think you're at a stadium level I think well I mean that's the plan in the autumn so we'll see how that goes which would be nice it'd be nice to have two Stadium bands foreign ly didn't know that I've completely forgotten he given it to me yeah and I didn't even it was just purely
because we had to re-insure the whole that is the symbol that is the humble West London resident with two Stadium bands and a Banksy in storage you you're such a weirdo there's there's more to me than that you know I know and you put it all in the music and um next time Devin huh yes that would be really nice thanks for an amazing
